Serpent Mk. III C-3000E

Featured here is the 1981 version of the Serpent Mk. III C-3000E. This is a Serpent of the Mk.III series. The Mark III series of Serpent had 4 models: Alfa, Competition, Super Competition and Super Pro.

– Serpent Mk. III Alfa A-3000:
Basic kit with the possibility to upgrade upto Super Pro. Rigid rear axle. Aluminium chassis and 5mm thick aluminium motor pod. No differential

– Serpent Mk. III Competition C-3000E (featured here):
3,2mm GRP chassis, 5mm aluminium motorpod. Ferodo disc brake. 4-pin clutch. No differential.
Reach 2nd place in European Championships 1978.

– Serpent Mk.III Super Competition SC-3000:
3,2mm GRP chassis, 5mm aluminium motorpod. Ferodo disc brake. 4-pin clutch. ‘Limited Slip’ differential. 3,2mm epoxy radioplate, quick exchange on rear wheels.

– Serpent Mk. III Super Pro SP-3000:
3,2mm GRP chassis, 5mm aluminium lightened motorpod. Ferodo disc brake with ball bearings. 4-pin clutch. ‘Limited Slip’ differential. 3,2mm epoxy radioplate, quick exchange on rear wheels. ‘Ron Ton’ side-exhaust. New front axle with angled caster pins. Winner of 3 European titles and 17 national (the Netherlands) titles

The body is a Chevrolet Corvette, EFRA approved with number 103.
The fuel tank on these pictures is not original; this one is exchanged by the previous owner with a 1984-type of Serpent ‘flip-top’ fuel tank. Original there was a black fuel tank which had to be build by the owner with the kit. These fuel tanks tend to leak and that can be the reason for the exhange to this ‘newer’ (1984) fuel tank.
